Studio

Studio is where you build and change what nara can do. You describe a capability in chat, and nara drafts the resources it needs: assistants, Skills, Workflows, Tools, and Data types. Nothing reaches users until you publish.

Open Studio with New capability on Capabilities or New assistant on Assistants, or go to /admin/nara/new.

The station row at the top shows where the draft stands:

  1. Describe — answer “What should nara handle?” in the composer. nara asks follow-up questions when it needs a decision.

  2. Draft — review the proposed resources: the process steps, the Tools each step uses, and the target it updates. Ask nara for changes in the composer, or edit a step directly.

  3. Test — Check everything runs the readiness checks. Open a test chat to talk to the draft as a user would. Tools that need a build are built and tested here.

  4. Publish — publish the draft. Published resources are live for everyone who has access to them.

The readiness line above the composer states the single next action, for example 1 action needed or Ready to publish.

Open an existing assistant, Skill, Workflow, or Tool in Studio to change it. Studio drafts the change against the published revision, and the published revision keeps serving users until you publish again.

Discard drops a draft. You can restore a discarded draft from the same workspace.

Expert mode is a personal switch on Capabilities, Assistants, and in Studio. It stays on until you turn it off. It shows:

  • Building blocks in the sidebar, with Tools and Data types.
  • A search, a Kind filter, and technical names on Capabilities, and the assistants of modules on Assistants.
  • The resources of a module on its module page.
  • Skill settings, the Tools of each step, and the quality tier in Studio.
  • Edit source in Studio. It shows the full definitions of the draft and lets you edit them directly. Use it for precise changes that are hard to describe in chat.

Configurable Agents from earlier versions are retired, not converted. Their chats move to nara with their history. A phone number or Microsoft Teams installation that answered with such an Agent refuses calls and chats until it has an assistant.

To keep what an Agent did:

  1. Recreate its configuration as an assistant in Studio, and publish it.

  2. Choose the assistant for each paused number on Phone numbers.

  3. Choose the assistant for a paused Teams installation in its Microsoft Teams integration. See Integrations.
