Skills
A Skill is a reusable instruction that nara applies when a conversation needs it. There are two kinds:
- Knowledge — background that shapes answers, such as house rules or terminology.
- Procedure — steps nara follows for a task. A procedure can run as a delegated task, so nara hands it to a worker and continues with the result.
Skills are listed under Capabilities in the Automation group of the admin console (/admin/capabilities). New capability and a click on a Skill open it in Studio.
Capabilities
Section titled “Capabilities”Capabilities lists Skills, Workflows, and open Studio drafts in two sections:
- For you — the capabilities and drafts of your organization.
- Always included — the capabilities that nara or your partner maintains.
Pause takes one of your Skills out of use without deleting it. The row then shows Paused. Resume brings it back.
A module that is enabled for your organization adds its request kinds as capabilities tagged Module by nara. They open the module page with its settings.
Adding to nara’s Skills
Section titled “Adding to nara’s Skills”You cannot change the instructions of a Skill that nara or your partner maintains. Open it in Studio and describe what nara should do in addition. Studio keeps the original instructions and publishes Your addition after them. The row then shows Adjusted. Reset to the nara version removes your addition.
When nara uses a Skill
Section titled “When nara uses a Skill”nara selects Skills by their description while it works. Skills pinned on an assistant are always active in conversations with that assistant.
Proposals
Section titled “Proposals”nara can propose a new Skill or a change from what it learns in conversations. Proposals wait under To decide on the admin overview until you Approve or Reject them. Nothing changes before you approve.
Access
Section titled “Access”Who may use a Skill is set on Access Control under Skills.
