Knowledge

Knowledge is your organization’s shared information: pages, documents, and structured records that nara searches to answer questions. Every Knowledge record follows a Data type, and records can link to each other.

Knowledge comes from three places: pages and records you create, files you import, and connected knowledge bases such as GLPI, Confluence, or SharePoint (see Integrations).

nara searches Knowledge with its Knowledge Tools, for example query_knowledge. While a search runs, the chat shows “Searching knowledge”. Answers grounded in Knowledge list their sources.

nara only finds records the person in the conversation may read. Folder and family rules on Access Control decide this.

Open Knowledge (/knowledge). Knowledge is organized in areas and pages:

  • Create area and Create page add your own content.
  • Ask nara asks a question about all Knowledge or about one area.
  • Pages synced from a connected knowledge base show Edit in source; change them there.
  • Show technical content also lists structured records such as device and user profiles.

Admins manage folders and records in the Knowledge Explorer (/admin/explorer) and in the object views (/admin/objects).

  1. Open Import and add files. Supported formats are PDF, DOCX, HTML, TXT, CSV, and images. Each file shows its credit cost.

  2. nara extracts the content and proposes records that match your Data types.

  3. Review the proposals. Nothing is written before you confirm. Pending reviews also appear under Notifications.

  4. Confirm the records you want to keep. They become searchable Knowledge.

nara also keeps a working memory: durable facts it notes from conversations, such as a person’s preferences. This memory is separate from Knowledge. It has no Data types, does not appear in the Knowledge app, and a person can ask nara to forget a fact about them.
