Tools & Memory
Tool assignment
Section titled “Tool assignment”Every agent has a set of tools it can invoke during execution. To assign tools to an agent:
-
Open the agent detail view and navigate to the Tools tab.
-
Browse or search the available tools from the registry.
-
Select the tools you want the agent to use and click Assign.
-
Save the agent configuration.
The agent will only call tools that have been explicitly assigned. Removing a tool from the agent’s set prevents it from being invoked, even if the operating protocol references it.
How memory fits in
Section titled “How memory fits in”Agents can use shared organizational knowledge through the tools you assign to them. In practice this means:
- Knowledge retrieval tools help an agent search and read existing information.
- Memory tools help an agent store or connect structured knowledge when your workflow requires it.
- Document-derived knowledge becomes available automatically after uploads have been processed and imported.
Supporters
Section titled “Supporters”Supporters are team members assigned to a specific agent who can receive a human handoff when automation should stop and a person should take over.
Typical examples:
- The agent cannot safely complete the request on its own.
- The issue requires access or judgment reserved for a human teammate.
- The user explicitly asks to talk to a person.
To manage supporters:
-
Open the agent detail view and navigate to the Supporters tab.
-
Search for team members by name or email.
-
Add or remove supporters as needed.
-
Save the configuration.
Supporters receive notifications when a conversation is routed to them and can take over the session directly from the dashboard.
